#Imagine upgrade . . NOT!

Mike,
I just read your response:
"christopher,
At the sake of sounding foolish, why not make it in Imagine, I have the series
on disk took a look and it dont look to hard.
Mike
PS if you dont have Imagine, we can make a comp upgrade for you from Lightwave.
Mike"
I found that to be very interesting considering that I found a post on the
internet regarding an upgrade to the Amiga Format disk and upon calling
Impulse, found that you wouldn't honor the upgrade to NTSC users.
Are we here in the states second class people or what!?!? Why can Pal users
upgrade to 3.0 for aprox $100 and we (ntsc) users can't.
I am a LightWave owner. What is the competative upgrade price? If it is more
than the Pal upgrade . . . . . . .
Matt
Matt,
From my understanding, the upgrade for PAL users is related to substantial
software piracy overseas. A version of Imagine was distributed free with a
magazine, with the offer to upgrade to the latest version. I guess some revenue
is better than none; as long as people are using the software, Impulse should
get some benefit. While it may not seem fair to you, different pricing by
market is a business reality. Just an opinion.
Ed
Matt,
I am always amazed at the level of hostility on the part of some
people. We dont consider anyone second class, and espcially not Light Wave
users. The deal with the UK magazine is for the PAL user that is correct. We
have had however a standing offer to users of other software, they can upgrade
to the current shipping version of the software for $200.00. If you feel that
Imagine would suit your needs we would be glad to send you the software and
would look forward to your critical review.
Try not taking what a company does as a personal attack on you or your
friends, we market the product as we see fit and never make plans to exclude
any prospective user. In the UK our software has been stolen to a terrible
degree,. This action on our part made it possible for us to offer some sort of
Amnesty to those who participated in this illegal act.
If we can be of further positive help, please feel free to call upon me
or anyone at Impulse. I would be glad to talk with you if you call the office,
I take all of my calls and look forward to hearing from you. 1800 328 0184, I
will even pay for the call.
