To Anyone Listening At GVP:
It seems that quite a few A3000 owners have announced their present desire
(or imminent NEED) for an '040 accelerator.
My sister recently purchased an A3000 that she may also want to speed-up
someday.
I own two GVP accelerators for both my A2000s and I must say that these
products are wonderful. Lifesavers, even.
So, my question is: where are the A3000 accelerators? It seems like it was
maybe 6 months or a year ago that atleast 3 companies had such options for
the A3000 on the market.
I agree with the person who spoke recently on this matter in one of
the Amiga forums that the new price slashes on A3000s means a growing
market for these accelerators. Why not bring 'em back?
I'm writing this as a potential future owner of a low-priced A3000 or
A3000T. I would hate to see such a fine machine lose support. Also, I
would hate to have to tell my sister that she's stuck in first gear.

I fully agree Stephen. I would love an accelerator for my 3000.
Especially now that I have an Emplant. But most have been so darn
expensive.

We have heard you! As some of you are aware, GVP is bringing an A4000 GForce
board to the marketplace (40Mhz 68040) in the first quarter of 1994. The good
news is that it will be usable with A3000s also! There is a limited amout of
information available to 'spill' here, but the standard board will accept up to
32Mb of RAM and a memory expansion module for the A4000 should also work for
the A3K, allowing a total of up to 128Mb of fast local memory.
It won't be cheap, but it will be in the tradition of our previous GForce
accelerators… the best! <blush>

Thanks for the response. Good news! I'll be looking forward to the new
product, since a newer Amiga is (almost definitely) in my future.
