AutoRaise Program?

Has anyone writen a "Autoraise" type program like found on some X-Windows
systems that will automatically bring to the front any window under the
mouse?
I haven't seen one. The closest I can imagine is to use MachIII
or other mouse utility with a Click To Front setting of one click.
Personally, I can't even stand SunMouse (auto-activate a window), let
alone bringing every window to front as the mouse passes over it.

I haved used KCommodity for some time for the click to front. I used to
like the sunmouse feature, until WB 2.04 came out and requesters started
getting keyboard shortcut gadgets. With sunmouse on, if a requester pops
open and you want to cancel it, you have to use the mouse since the
requestor has been deactivated by the sunmouse program. I usually run with
it off now. I still wish I could find a program that did sunmouse but
moved the mouse to any new requestor or window that opens up, so you could
still use the keyboard shortcuts.
But right now and am starting to use PasTeX for the Amiga, which
requires have an editor window open and using a shell to run TeX on the
file and Showdvi (a previewer) all active at the same time. An autoraise
feature would be usefull here as I switch back and forth between windows.

In the Commodities drawer there are ClickToFront and Autopoint.
ClickToFront allows you to double click on a window and bring it to the
front. Autopoint activates whatever window your pointer is over. I don't
know why you would want to automatically bring the window to the front in
a multi-tasking system. Say you were just trying to bring up a menu and
the system kept bringing up some other window just because your mouse
happened to move over it.

I use KCommodity instead of ClickToFront and Autopoint to do the same
things. What I would like to be able to do is to select some same set of
windows to raise when the mouse is over them. I mainly want it for working
with PasTeX, where I need a TTX window and a shell open at the same time.
What would be even better than an autoraise for the mouse pointer would be
to have a group of windows put in a queue and then be able to cycle
through them with a hotkey.

MachIII does have a hotkey sequence for cycling through windows.
LAmiga-J and LAmiga-K, as I recall.

Boy I would hate to change, as I like KCommodity, but I might check out

I think I've found the program you were looking for. YAK (YAK.LHA)
allows you to have the sunmouse feature you want, and allows exclusion of
windows, and adds the autoraise once a window is selected. It also
contains many of the features of KCommodity. You will definitely want to
give this one a look.

I think this one might work. It's the first package where I can live
with the sunmouse feature, since it waits until the mouse stops before
activating the window.
My only complaint so far is that it doesn't provide for mouse
acceleration. I'm now trying to get either KCommodity or MachIII to work
with it while not overriding it.
BTW, I was incorrect as to the exclusion of certain windows from the
sunmouse/autoraise feature. It's an inclusive list, which is more to what
you were asking for. It uses standard AmigaDOS 2.x pattern matching.
