#Screenmode trouble!
4 messages in this thread
I`m in desperate straits. Recently got a Philips 8833 monitor.
I experimented with screen mode and have got into real deep
trouble.
I now can`t boot up with my HD. When I switch on I get a
black screen, with lines jumping up and down. Tried to use
my WB master disk to correct it, but it doesn`t work. I
tried to reinstall on the HD using the Fast File System
install disk that I used for my initial installation.
However, with this I am getting an error message:
COPY FILES: Couldn`t copy a file
DOS Error Type:
Unable to access
a file or drawer object in use
I am using my WB3.0 so I can boot up AP. Had to add the
assign message to the floppy`s S directory so it would work.
The appearance of this message is a bit weird, hope it
uploads OK!!
Please someone out there….help!
Nancy
Nancy,
Where are you? I'll come over and help if you're in London.

Thanks a lot John…but managed to resolve the problem.
New Horizon Computers of Ross on Wye expressed an Install3.0 to me and it
solved the problem. I don`t know why my Install disk failed! I purchased
my setup from NHC, but I still think their service is impressive.
Though I was able to access my HD I still had trouble when I tried to boot
AP. So I placed all the monitors from DEVS/Monitors in STORAGE/Monitors
and now have the default WB Screenmode which solved that problem.
I would now like to know the best way to set up the screen with my setup.
I have a Phillips 8833 monitor (high-res) with a 1200HD, but after this
last fiasco I don`t want to do anymore experimenting. Any sugestions on
the best way to do this, with limited flicker, will be appreciated.
Again, my thanks
Nancy
Nancy,
Sorry, I've been offline for a few days. I'll bet my act together and call
you back on this.
Glad you're able to function for the time being,
