I need a little assistance please.
I downloaded Viewtek 2.0 and it works great, but I cannot view gif files. I
was told that 2.0 has a bug in that respect. He also mentioned to me that I
should look for 1.6. I do not see it. If it is no longer available, can
someone recomend something that would work for me?

Ben,
the only version in the libraries is 2.0. Have you checked to see if
an earlier version is available on the Fish disks? If so, some of them
are online in AmigaTech. If it's on an earlier disk, post a request that
someone, such as Betty or Michael perhaps, upload it for you.

ViewTek 2.0 that's making the rounds is actually a prerelease beta
version that was never supposed to be distributed. The author's permitted
it to remain available, but the GIF problem is well-known. An earlier
version is your best bet for now if you can find one.

Viewtek 1.05 shows GIFs fine.
