#Access 1.42 Question

I am using an Amiga 500, 1 meg RAM, with Access 1.42, and recently have had a
problem on a non-CIS bulletin board with certain (only one, really) menu(s)
messing up on-screen, over-writing itself and generally being unreadable (my
capture file shows that all the characters are there). The support people
suggested that I check to be sure my software is using a VT 100 or VT 102
emulation (the same I need for Compuserve), but I can't find anywhere in Access
that tells me what emulation I am using ( I am at 8,N,1 as requested by this
other service).
Does anyone out there know Access and how to tell when and whether it is
emluating VT100 or some other terminal type?

Access 1.42 is a bit old and doesn't work as well with WB 2.x as it has with WB
1.3. You didn't mention which operating system your using. It may be time to
upgrade to a newer term program. There are a couple in LIB 5 that are worth
looking at, Backtalk, Terminus and Term come to mind.
I used to use Access 1.42 all the time, but it locks up on me now that I've
been using WB 2.1. The author was working on an updated version but I think it
never was finished and released, I wonder what happened to Mr. Young?

Keith will no doubt reply himself soon, but I can tell you that he's
working for a company doing their Macintosh programming. I don't believe
that he's completely abandoned the Amiga, but realistically how many hours
can you look at code without losing a few marbles.

I can't recall if Access allows you to set your parameters to 8-N-1 _and_
'strip the high bit', but if it does, try it.
