But where can I buy a larger power supply? The only ones I've seen
advertised
were the ones included with other products, such as the SubSystem. I can't
remember offhand who makes SubSystem. I think it's Progressive Peripherals.
Looks like a nice product from the ads, but I don't want to spend that much
money at this time, just to be able to have a larger power supply.
While we're on the subject, does anyone have any opinions on the Inboard
from Spirit. As of right now, it's the only memory expansion unit (except A501)
that my dealer has to offer for my 500. It is also an internal expansion unit.
I hadn't even thought about the power consumption problem, until someone
mentioned it here.
I really would like to add more RAM to my system, in the very near future.
One meg just isn't enough!!!

Mike,
I believe Phoenix Products (?) sells an upgrade power supply, I'm not
at home so can't give you an exact name or address of the company, but I'll get
back to you on that.
I personaly wouldn't use a Spirit board since they aren't self powered,
but that's my own choice and what you do is up to you.

I am using an Inboard with 1.5 megs onboard with no problem. I couldn't get it
to auto-config, but a simple addmem command in my startup sequence takes care
of that with no problem. I now have 2.5 megs total on my A500. I did take the
precaution of adding a better power supply. I purchased one from Phoenix which
cost $99.95. It is the one that Spirit recommended to me. I would say go for
it!

Mike,
I can't find the ad now that I'm home, but I'm almost positive that
it's Phoenix that sells the heavier power supply. Perhaps one of the members
here who has bought one can give you better information.
