#HPLJ Drivers for 12c3
7 messages in this thread
I am having trouble printing an ACAD file to an HPLJ IIP+. I have it
directly connected to LPT1, and get a completely blank page after
selecting an HP II configuration and either printing or copying a
simple file. The HP prints OK from Windows or DOS, and I can send the
file to an HP Paintjet using the Paintjet driver. How can I get an
updated/replacement HP driver for the HPLJ IIP+??
Bruce – AutoCAD is supported in Autodesk's AutoCAD Forum (GO ACAD).
This is Autodesk's Multimedia Forum (GO ASOFT).
There is now driver for plotting from AutoCAD to Laserjet II series, I
have the same problem and plot to a file using the driver configured
as a 7454 plotter with HPGL language as driver standard delivered
with AutoCAD after that I use an external program that sends this
file to any Laserjet I or II series.
Christophe – that's not correct. Release 12 has configurations for the
Laserjet Series II as well as the original LJ and LJ Plus.

Yes it has configurations in PCL language, but on Laserjet I and II
this did not allow to print linethicknesses so you needed an external
program because the HPGL driver does not support Laserjet types for
that and to us not able to have the HPGL out is was a problem, if you
however find a straight HPGL out driver from AutoCAD 12 I'll be happy
to know.

Christophe – there's a program called PRINTGL that will work with earlier LJs
and a whole lot of other programs. Go over to the ACAD Forum for it.

Yes I know, I use Lplot, from Insight for plotting to my printer and
access it from within AutoCAD, shelling out to lplot, it is even in
my menu structure. I have no problem with output, I go nearly daily
to my Laserjet II and to my A0 plotter.
