#Mach64 Graph. Xpression!

I have a problem when trying to use 3D Studio R4 under windows with my
Graphics Xpression (Mach64) card. I can start 3DS and go back to windows
using Alt-TAB. When going back to 3DS the screen is scrambled up!!
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

When you switch back to 3DS, try to switch between modules (ie. press F2, F1)
This should reset the screen.

When I try this nothing happens, sorry but it doesn't work!! Anyone with more
idees, about Mach 64 card under windows!!!

Did you try pressing F5 when you were trying the other F keys? It seems
that the Material Editors video mode is the only one that will allow my
Viper to return to 3DS from Windows.

We've seen problems that are related to the driver running Windows. For
instance, temporarily run Windows in 640x480x16 (use the VGA driver which comes
with Windows) and see if that makes any difference.
In the case of my Video7 card, I had to run a Video7 utility which had the
switch PURE|OFF (or something similar, I forget) before starting Windows. This
allowed me to get 3D Studio working under Windows. I believe that the problem
comes from the environment that is provided by the DOS shell under Windows.
After 3D Studio is initialized, and you go back to Windows and then back to
3DS, the Vibrant driver cannot detect a part of the environment which says to
reset the graphics.
Usually, switching from one 3DS module to another will help clear the screen,
as Jeremy suggested. I've always configured my Materials Editor with something
a little different than my 3D Editor resolution and switch back and forth
between F3 and F5 to clear up my screen when it's garbled.
