#Contract

I'm looking for some ideas for constructing a contract for animation work. I
would appreciate any help
with this.

Flying low on the radar, dude. I hope the response is a public post.
I'm kinda interested myself. How's the weather. And business?

I would suggest something to include the following:
DATE of bid
AGENCY or company you are doing the bid for
CONTACT name of the person you need to keep in touch with
TELEPHONE number of that person
PRODUCT or name of project you are bidding for
YOUR NAME or name of animation producer
STARTING DATE of project
FINISH DATE of project
DESCRIPTION of project.. be as *specific* as possible!
TITLE of video
LENGTH of animation
TOTAL of bid
You may want to have a chart with everything you offer and have a box next to
each service, and check the appropriate box for the service needed. Provide a
subtotal for each service, as well as total bid. You may want to ask for half
up front, but this is up to your discretion. It is important to have a
proposal explaining EVERYTHING to be done, usually the proposal is done on a
separate sheet from the bid summary. I know you are probably looking for
something in the range of TERMS to be met on your behalf, but my experience has
been that I had to meet the CLIENT's terms and restrictions. But here is a
sample you may want to add to your own contract..
*name of your company*'s terms are one-half of bid in advance, with balance
due upon completion to your satisfaction. Bid proposal is valid for thirty
days from the above date. The indicated delivery may vary according to *name
of your company*'s scheduling availability. At the time of receipt of down
payment a schedule will be presented to indicate delivery date.
This may work in most cases, but if you are not established or have a killer
demo reel, don't ask for half up front, just make sure you have in there
somewhere "balance due upon completion of project."
If you want, I can send and example of a contract I had to abide by for a
couple of my animations. Take care.
