Greetings 3D Artists!! 2 questions….. 1. When I attempt to load a particular .prj file, I get the following error messages: LOAD_APP_DATA GREAD FAILED INVALID PROJECT FILE Any ideas on what's going on here?? 2. Does anyone know if the reported bug with Pentiums affects 3DS in any way? Many Thanks, Andy Roberts BITS Corp.

The APP DATA problem, I believe, crops up when you try to load a 3DS file with the extended object attributes into an older version of r3 that hasn't had APPDATA.EXE run on it. Is this the case? I'm pretty sure the Pentium problem you speak of is with double floating point processes. I believe 3DS is written to single floating point. If I'm off-base here, someone (I hope) will straighten me out<g>.

Alan is correct on both counts. I can confirm that 3DS only uses single-precision math, so the Pentium problem DOES NOT AFFECT 3DS AT ALL. Repeat "AT ALL". – G

Hi Gary, Receiving you loud and clear on the Pentium situation (great.. now for that render farm!) Thanks, Andy Roberts BITS Corp.

It seems like both of your questions have been answered, I just wanted to jump in and say HI! What have you been up to these days?

Hi Greg, How's it going with you? Things are real busy for us in sunny London (smile), we've got a few exciting projects in the pipeline and are working on putting together a showreel for CES in Jan. What are you guys up to? How's Pyros Pictures?? Regards, Andy Roberts BITS Corp.

Andy: We are doing well, also! We are working on three different TV series, architectural walkthroughs, and just signed to do graphics for a CD-ROM game. In addition a bit of forensic work and, heaven forbid, we are also busy on the other side of the business, doing some architectural design work! I never thought I'd be back in architecture, but my wife has me designing, checking drawings, and calculating structural forces. And I thought I was out of that business! Greg Pyros

Hi, guy! You got it?! THE CD-Rom game? The one you called about? Wonderful! Anyway, I DID call back at 4:30. Actually, at 4:32. Did you find out anything on Stereoscopic animation? I'll ring you again in the morning. BB P.S. Brag, brag…. I have SIX projects going. None as big as yours, however. But I'm the only "joe" working on 'em. Not!
