FROM: Marvie C Nauman, 75543,1275 TO: DATE: Re: Skinning mulpitable objects Useing slice and Hierarchy I've created an oval tube (Nerve) and a round cone type object as an branch comeing off the main nerve but have not been able to skin the main and branch together as one object. What have I missed and where? (there will be about 6 round tapered branches off the main in the final product). I though I had seen something on skinning two or more objects together as one, but I can't find it now that I need it. Thanks Marv.

Hi Marvin, << What have I missed and where? >> Is your object lofted?

It sounds like you're trying to skin a branching hierarchy, which can't be done without some tricks. (Skin is ostensibly a tube-skinner, not a branching skinner.) Bill Batchelor (of this forum) has come up with some tricks re how to simulate branching, and there's an example file up here somewhere in the DL's that shows how. (Bill… any idea what the name of that file is?) – G

Hi Marvin – Can't help you with skinning – but if you're skinning nerves I'd like to hear more … I decided not to use skin for axons and terminals because I wasn't happy with the texture mapping – are you mapping your nerve or just using color? Gayle G de N

Just useing color at this point. I think I've figured out how to cheat to make it look as one. I just need 5 minutes to try it, now lets see maby after I make a pie for my #1 client, and after I install leadview so we can ck all his files out, etc………………. I will try at least in 5 more hours……. (I hope.. I need 32 hour days.)
