Hi Paul I am running a bbs called MidiLand on my A2000 with a 68020 with 7 megs total ram. I use DLG Pro for my software and I also have a MultiFace III serial card. With a 040' you should be able to have several lines at one time without to much slowdown as long as you have some ram. I know of a guy that had 16 lines on an A3000 and they system ran well other than his software was the worse… Unless you know that you can get the callers for a multi line system right from the start, I would stay with a 1 or 2 line system. DLG from my point of view is the most stable of all the Amiga bbs programs, in fact DLG is a O/S that works well with Amiga Dos. My BBS number is 810 887 HELP if you care to call and check it out… Dave Dave Birdsong AKA MidiMan of Midiland 810 887 HELP

Hi Dave, Thank you for your advice. It won't be easy choosing the software I want to use. Calling some of the BBS's might help as I'll get to see what they look like. Wow, 16 lines.. that's not bad 🙂 I was on a BBS yesterday that only had 3 lines… and was it ever slow! Only one of the three were downloading… (of course I don't know what type of system it was on, probably a PC). What type of Configuration does the MultiFace III have? One persom (person) mentioned to me the MultiFace II, which has 2 serial and 2 parallel ports. Does the III have more than that? Paul

Paul > MultiFace II, which has 2 serial and 2 parallel ports. Does the III >have more than that?> MultiFace II, which has 2 serial and 2 > parallel ports. Does the III have more than that? That was me. Strangely the III has less: 2 ser 1 par, but it does have a DB25 serial and a DB9 serial while the MFCII+ has 2 DB9 serials. So I have to use DB9-to-DB25 gender changers. > 16 lines.. that's not bad 🙂 Want to see a heavy chat board, call SKYNET at (810) 772-5802 or 6442. On a good weekend type "WHO" at the main prompt and look at all the lines on this Amiga only Excellsior! BBS. Well, it impressed me. But I'm easily…. alternate: jonest@hfsi.com I never met a man I didn't like…Will Rogers
