#HDToolbox Device ?
7 messages in this thread
Does anyone remember the trick to use HDToolbox with a non-Commodore
controller card ? I seem to remember you add a tool to the programs icon
with a line "XXX=dev/AdIDE.DEVICE", what is the correct format for that
statement?
Gary,
SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=AdIDE.device

Thanks! The help is much appreciated.
Hi Gary
The tool type is: SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=scsi.device. For example, I just
changed it to 'SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=gvpscsi.device' on my GVP powered 2000,
and HDToolbox recognized by hard drive.
By the way, the 1200 is working great.

Thanks for the info, glad the A1200 is doing what you need. Would you
believe I am still getting E-Mail offers to buy it ? They are REALLY in
short supply!

As someone else has already posted it is "SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=AdIDE.device".
But be careful. I had an A500 with an AdIDE, and was playing with its HD
using this trick and destroyed the HD partitons. (I think I was using
different software.) Of course that was the first time I played with a
HD's setup, and may have done something really dumb.

Thanks for the warning – this is my spare machine to play with so I can
aford to muck things up somewhat.
