Any parallel cable will work with one modification: You must disable the
12-Volt supply pin, which I believe is #14 (It's been a while, so check the
back of the manual for the pin-listing of the parallel port). Pull the pin out
on your cable (Not the computer!), or open the cable "hood" and cut the line on
the inside. Failing to disable the power supply line may make your printer
cranky or even short it out.
