Bob,
I've been trying to get some of my still images out as slide shows using an
older verson of an app called Image Q. It's small and simple and realy well
done but
in trying to make a show-to-go I've run into a problem in size! It's a cool
idea if the
average size of a diskette were 12 mb and not 1.44 mb!!! I do dream don't I?
Gif delivers the smallest file size but the executable part added on makes
each gif approx 1.3 mb!! not 67k!!
I got my hands on HSC Interactive but after this slide show stuff I've
spent the equivalent of $3,000 worth of anxiety so I might as well buy a par
and HD and just put out to video! This will mean that I can enter the world of
the tube and not look back!
Thanks for the direction, Gary

Funny you should mention ImageQ as I just sent in for the upgrade to version
3.3 (well, it was 3.something). Version 2.2 was terrific, the new one sounds
worth the $69 fee. Have you used the proprietary
hkw compression on your images or using JPEG images to keep your file sizes
down? Even with compression I find the shows end up spanning several disks.
But the shows do look good and they are easy to put together. Yesterday I
briefed one of the older principals in our firm on the rudiments of using
ImageQ. He spends inordinate amounts of time on the road and he's really
getting into customizing his own laptop shows for his marketing efforts.

Bob,
Sorry for not responding right away-was experiencing deadline delirium!
About Image Q.. I picked up the phone after your msg and phoned Waterloo,
Ontario where I-Q is developed and had the latest specs sent to me!!! It has
developed into a really HOT package for what it's for!! The one feature I was
hoping for (been looking for) is true "fade in & out" between files. It's got
it!
The trouble I'm having is tracking down a street price retailer. Do you
know one?! Retail is 749.99999 but street according to them is about 400.00
No one I called even heard of it except videotex
who put it on a list of stuff for me to buy. A guy can really get fried if not
looking!
The trouble here in Dallas (if it was in the news where you are) was last
week- 8 masked asians robbed Cyrix corp of $1 MILLION IN 486 cpu's!!!! new what
they were doing- went straight to the booty! I suspect it was the Mighty Moron
Power Rangers but have little proof!

The Image North folks suggested that I call PC Zone or PC Warehouse. If you
remind me (e-mail will do) I can retrieve a phone number for you at work Mon.
I paid over $600 for it so don't bum me out by telling me about snagging it for
$400 OK?
I just got the upgrade to ImageQ 2.3. You gotta see the page curl and peel
transitions, awesome.
Bob
If they were masked, how could anyone tell if they were Asians?

Alan,
Your last name, "Iglesias," what does it mean?
Alan
The bandits put on a riviting performance of madam butterfly and had an
autograph opportunity afterwards plus they got away in a Toyota! other than
that I'm not sure!
Cyrix has great cameras I guess and can't afford good security!?
