Ken,
I am pretty sure that the AG-A96 is simply a control track reader. You
might look into a Future Video Edit Controller as it controls the 455 and
reads LTC time code (I believe Horita makes a box that can read VITC and
convert it to LTC for use with the Future Video).

I take it the model you are using is like an EC-1000, without the
ability to add SMPTE time code? If so, and you like the editor, you might
consider calling Future Video and seeing if they will take your editor as
a trade-in on one that does support time code. I have found them to be
very responsive to customers wishes in most situations.
