#Introduction

Hi all,
Well I thought I would just leave a message to introduce myself to the
forum. My name is Michael W. Towe and I am the owner of Falcon Video
Productions located in a suburb of San Diego Ca. known as Santee. I do mostly
wedding videography but as we speak I am working on a special interest video
project. I aquire my footage with an AG-455 Panisonic SVHS cammera and edit on
a Fast Video Machine with 2 AG-1970 source decks and a SVO-9600 record deck. I
also do some animation using a product called Imagine from Impulse Inc.
Well thats a little about me…..what about the rest of ya???

Hi Michael… i got you confused with somebody who knows what they are
doing. <grinning>
Really, I thought you were Michael Yaeger, a guy who did some training
tapes on the Fast Video Machine.

Thats OK John….. I do the same thing myself at times. You know…..when
you are cutting tape at 2:00am and it looks great. Then you get up the next
morning/afternoon and you look at it and realize that you should go back to
fliping burgers at the local fast food resteraunt cuz you shure as hell don't
know anything about video :-)))

If you realy want to get ahold of Michael ( Yaeger that is) you might want
to leave him a message in the FAST section of the MULIBVEN forum. He pops in
there once in a while.

Great to get your message, Michael.
My wife, Danielle, and I were blessed with our company, VideoDANS, two years
ago in March. We began as a camcorder rental outfit until freinds began wanting
wedding videography. We progressed into class reunions, real estate, parties,-
just about anything that would create income.
On our one year anniversary the Lord gave us a completely new system for
exchange for work for a client. We purchased a Video Machine, Two AG-455s, an
AG-3 w/ steadycam jr., and two AG-1970s. This year we've tried to learn our
system and keep the business rolling. Recently, I've shot and editted a school
dance, a Chamber of Commerce Retreat, and Christmas plays. We feel very
comfortable in the wedding realm. We are looking to branch into "professional
paying" market. It seems to be tough to get that first one rolling.
We just finisheded a short demo for our company. A short five minute job
using a few transitions and graphics, but focusing on five satisfied custumers.
Well, a long winded intro, but I do look forward to swapping ideas and
equipment info with you.

Well for what it is worth you not only have the same editing system,
cammera, and decks as I do, your wife has the same name as ny 5 year old
daughter :-))) Yes truth IS stranger than fiction !!! As far as the AG 455 goes
I don't know if I like it as much as the 450 but with the VITC it works great
with VM. It allows me to ghet my 2 1970 source decks frame accurate 85 to 90
percent of the time. On the record side I run a Sony SVO-9600 with LTC timecode
and I can't tell you how nice it is to have a 100% frame accurate deck to
record to. Especially when it comes to dumping frames of animation.

I don't know if tough is the right word…..I think it is more like " down
right FRUSTRATING!!!" I have to date done one corperate job and it was a
nightmare from word go. The client waited untill 2 days prior to the due date
to get me all of the stuff needed for the project ie. still shots, graphic
screens and animations. I spent 32 hours in 2 days cutting it together. All for
a whoping $1,600 clams. Just remember to never give up the ship. What is the
old saying??….. Success is 1% insperation and 99% persperation 🙂
Anyways….. Thanks for the reply and I too hope to share some ideas in the
future.

Stranger facts- The town you live in is the same name as a production partner
and FAST owner I work with- Brian Santee, 74077.1253. He and I recently put
together a bid for the city of Tulsa, but we ran out of time before the
deadline. We are looking to the future.
I live in Shawnee, Ok., a small town (pop. 27,000) 25 miles E. of Okla. City. I
have lived two summers in the San Deigo(sp?) area, and my brother currently
lives overlooking Lake Hodge. He teaches tennis at Rancho Bernardo Inn.
I'm sending out my demo and a cover letter to area industry within the next two
weeks. I'll keep you posted.

I'm Bill Metzger, and have been looking for this forum for a while, and now
it's here!
I'm getting ready to spend money on a Fast Movie Maker Pro setup to do ameture
(sp! and my wife's swiped my dictionary!) video editing. I' using a Richo's
Sony TR-101 camera and need to edit my footage.
I'm mostly interested in "home" stuff, and am looking for input on the proposed
purchase. I've reqad the review in Video Maker, I believe.
As I'm in town, it'd be neat if you could call – 485-2679 days or 746-2379
nights.
Of course, if you'd like to just keep the discussion here, that's fine, too.

Well how about I give you a call tonight about 6:00pm. I don't know to much
about the Movie Machine since I don't use the thing but I will give it a shot.
In the mean time you might want to pop over to the Fast section of the
Mutimedia B Vendor Forum < GO MULTIBVEN > and ask around in there. There is a
section dedicated to the Movie Machine.
