Does anyone know where I can find info on a white carving stone in the Tenn/Kentucky area? I do carving and I have heard of a nice, soft stone that is in this area. I have contacted local rock shops and they weren't able to help me. Where can I go for this info. All help is appreciated. Thanks.

>> white carving stone in the Tenn/Kentucky area? Sherry, Sounds like alabaster, which is a form of gypsum. It's nice carving material, and sometimes is found in pink. What kind of info are you looking for? Al

Why not try calling local quarries, and asking them where this soft stone might be found? Even a road rock and gravel store might be able to help.
