#MiroVIDEO DC1 TV

Just purchased miroVIDEO DC! TV board for Gateway 2000 P5-90. This board is a
video digitizing and editing system using Motion JPEG format of hardward and
software. It received great reviews from Video Review. Board included Adobe
Premiere 1.1 as well as Video Studio by U-Lead. I hope to have it up and
running in a few days. If interested I can share info with others as I go
through this process.

Happy holidays. Yes, I would be very eager to hear about your experiences with
the Miro. We are looking at installing one to aid in our multimedia production
services. Primarily, we are looking for a way to capture video clips from tape
and adding them to Astound and Freelance presentations, all computer-based
stuff. We *might* want to output to tape in the future, but for now, good
capture results for computer playback is our target.
Thanks for sharing! Look forward to hearing more from you.
Tried to install last night but unable to accomplish task. According to Miro
their board is incompatible with the video board (Matrox) on my Pentium. They
are sending me a new driver to try out. I'm told it should work. I'll keep
you informed as I go through this process. Happy Holidays,
Dave
Hi David!
I have heard and read good things about the DC1 board… sure hope you
enjoy it. Please post any questions or comments you may have after
playing around with it. Welcome to the DTV Forum!

Tried last night to install Miro board but unable to accomplish task.
According to Miro their board is incompatible with the video board (Matrox) on
my Gateway Pentium. However, they are sending me a new driver which I'm told
should correct the problem. One thing should be noted. I was able to get
through to Tech Support on the first call without waiting. Now to see if the
new driver works. I'll keep you informed. Happy holidays.
Dave
David,
Isn't that just the way it had to work. Hope you get your new driver
soon.

I have a DC1 tv and I am happy with it's performance. Are you planning to
output to tape?
Hi Michael,
Yes, I hope to be able to end up with a finished product consisting of video
tape. However, I'm having problems with the installation of the board.
According to Miro their board is incompatible with my video board (Matrox).
They are sending me a new driver which should correct the problem.
How are you using the board and what are your results? Happy Holidays, Dave
David,
I just got the board about a week ago and so far I haven't done much.(I'm
trying to do this in my spare time). I've captured a small 30 sec clip with the
DC1 tv and played it back thru the composite output of the board. I was pleased
with the quality but I hear that the s-video output is better. (Time for a new
VCR) I also just ordered a Micropolis AV drive today, that should help.
Let me know how it goes. It will be nice to have someone to compare notes with!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Mike
David,
Please do!! Give us all the juicy details as I am contemplating this
product myself.

I tried to install the board last night but due to incompatibilities with my
video board (Matrox) I was not able to do so. Miro is sending me a new driver
that should correct the problem. I'll try again when it arrives and keep you
informed. Happy Holidays. Dave
David,
Keep me posted. I seriouly looked into ALL the boards, read every review I
could get my hands on and still have not come to a decision. The output
quality of the miro is suppose to be the best of this price range. I suppose
the S-Video input helps and comes out better than the Fast Movie Machine. Let
me know how it goes once miro comes up with a fix for your Matrox card.

>> Sometimes I would wish they could bundle our more recent and powerful
software, Media Studio. It has new features, totally re-written Video Editor
and Audio Editor, and many more modules (like morphing) in the same box. Video
Studio 1.1a is fine as it is simple and easy to use. However, using Media
Studio people will give us a totally different look. Just a thought.
