Does anybody has experience in producing computer animations with this device ?
What is the video quality ?

My guess is that it would look decent. You'd be limited to 320×200
resolution, but with 24bit color and at 30 frames per second, I imagine it
can look pretty good.
Do you have the DC1 now? If so how do you like it?

Do you mean DCTV from Digital Creations? If you do, it is not bad for a
$200 or so display and image grabbing device. Everyone's idea of what is
good is different, therefore I suggest you see one in action before you
buy it.

Using AP from Bergenfield, NJ
I just got one of these for doing a training video. It's not to bad. For me it
was a toss-up between this card and the Intel Video Recorder Pro. I got the
Miro card because it outputs to an NTSC source without additional hardware. I'm
still playing with it to see what I can do. I've only had it for a couple of
days but it seems to work pretty well. A lot depends on the resolution of the
video card your using though if you are targeting the pc and not video tape.

Hi Michael,
I'm using the (miro) DC1 tv as well for cature as for playback of video
sequences to a tape. I think it's the best MJPEG board for that price. You can
put your clips with adobe premiere together and then put it onto tape.
Supported resolution is not up to
320×240 but 384x 288 ( MPEG 1 uses the same resolution ). If you put it out to
a BETACAM it looks pretty nice.

you comment on approx how much HD space per minute it consumes? Thanx
Also IDE or SCSI Drives?
Could you describe the image output quality of your Miro DC1 a bit more? I
haven't seen a demo of it anywhere. For example, how would it compare to a
VHS–>VHS dub on typical consumer VCR's? Or from a Hi-8 to S-VHS dub? etc.,
if you have experience with anything besides Betacam?

I recently purchased DC1 TV board. I have Pentium 66-Micropolis, 1.75 GIG AV,
Fast SCSI 2 Controller and 32MEG of RAM. My capture, with a SONY Hi8 Handycam
and S video, is very good at data rate of 700KB/sec. My export to video is not
good and my transfer to video tape of my saved movie is not the same quality as
my capture.
I can't seem to get Print to Video quality when I save movie using AVI
compression. It is somewhat jerky and appears to be missing frames when it
plays back (although all 30/sec are in saved file).
When I export to video the jerkyness goes out to the tape.
Can you help me with how you have been doing both or point me to someone who
can help?:
a) Print to Video
b) Transfer to video tape.
Please advise on the various settings and techniques you use for each. I would
really appreciate your help.
