got bit by that one 2 months ago, i thought i posted a message on that one. also the new ver of the par software 34b loads fields backwards, so you have to turn on field 2 when loading the targas to have them play correctly. sherwood

sherwood – Help a little with this >>>new ver of the par software 34b loads fields backwards<<<. When have you found this problem to occur? I have a PAR, but (as far as I know) have not experienced this problem. Maybe I haven't used it under the right circumstances. . . Thx Bob Weil

3dstudio as a default i think uses field 1, the par ver 34b loads the fields as 1 but its backwards. when i set the par to field order 2 it loads fine. i'm not the only one experiencing this wierd reversal of fields on the par. another way to tell is if you see something wierd when recording fields on the par , copy the animation backward s and run it… it looks great in reverse but not in forward. wierd<g>. this happens whether you copy from the harddisk to the par or render to the par. another thing happened just yesterday when i was deleteing files on the par with ver 34b it trashed 3 animations giving corupt data with file sizes of 3,147,000,000 bytes , i wish the drive was that big but its a 2217a 1.6 gig. i reformated but the field problem remains. you can work around it but i can't see why they reversed the field order. sherwood

I'm getting that corrupt data stuff too. The field reversal thing is sort of annoying but the trashing of animations is potentially devastating. And its happened to me a few times. Ian.

Sherwood: I had the same problem w/ 1.30b with having to set the FIELDS to "2", even thought the docs explicitly state they should be "1" for 3DS. I haven't touched the default field-order switch in the 3DS.SET file, of course. I haven't tried 1.34 yet. Dave
