My first wish: I need some way to quickly preview the motion of my
animations for realistic timing. Color/quality are of little concern
as opposed to speed of rendering. Another system I work on
(Colorgraphics DP- anybody else out there?) allows you to build a
wireframe preview which can run back at 30fps. Its very quick. I
don't know much about PC playback technology, but is a real-time
preview possible? thanks, scott
You can get locked 30fps timing previews a number of ways in 3DS.
– making a flic with every 2nd frame and playing it back at 15fps off
of your hard disk (size can be sub-320×200 for speed)
– using the fast preview system in r4, which will skip frames to keep up
to whatever rate you set.
– using Tempo.kxp to get a locked 30fps preview of a box-mode representation
of a single selected object. (the Tempo demo that's up here in DL1 will
do this fine)
