#Moon tex map!

If you are a 3DS user, take a look at sponge.jpg in your maps dir. It isn't
completly seamless, but will appear to be if you throw in a second rock-like
texture map. I use it a lot for moons.
As for the Jupiter map, I have one I created in a paint program that looks
very realistic when mapped on a sphere. Contact me by E-mail if you're
interested. Maybe we can work something out.

Mitch: Thank you for your e-mail. I appreciate that there is a map like
spong.jpg that may resemble something like the surface of the moon. However,
I'm creating an interactive spce-travel animation and I must be as accurate as
possible and can't really use a spong for the moon. I'm currently working with
USGS (Geological Survey) to obtain such maps. I'm very interested to see your
Jupiter map even if it is an artist's conception. Regards,

For accurate space images you might also try the NASA library. They
have tons of images for loan, all for free. (This is what your tax
dollars pay for!) You can call them for a catalog or just describe
what you want over the phone and they'll send it to you. They're
located somewhere in Texas, don't remember where — perhaps someone
else could jump in and give this info.
