More likely, it's the setting for single and double clicks in your
Preferences. It can be set at different speeds, and apparently the default
speed isn't the one you are comfortable with. I suggest you experiment.
(The place to set it is on the main screen by the mouse with a slider with
checkmarks at the top and bottom)
