Windows '95 has been delayed another two months. It won't be on
store shelves until *at least* August. Couldn't be better timing
after the Pentium debacle. Has the entire industry grown to the
point that it can't support its own weight?
I saw this in USA Today myself. Maybe Microsoft might have to change
the name to Windows 96 if they keep this up. Also read that Intel has
changed their replacement policy for the Pentium. Before they were
asking users to prove that they needed a new chip. Now they will
replace them no questions asked. I understand they took a lot of
flack from their users. Somehow, I don't pity them <g>. Now with 2.2
million Pentium machines out there, and if only 75% ask for a new
processor at $500 a pop, that will cost Intel $825 Million in
potential sales. I don't think I want to buy any Intel stock right
now <g>.
The $825 price you quote is retail. OEM price ranges from
$50 to $150 per chip according to the article I read.

Naah; it's just that all the B.S. that Microsoot and Intol(erable)
have been juggling under the hot lights is starting to melt….

Assuming that the change from Windows 95 to Windows 96 is a given, I think it's
actually going to be in their favor. Many people will have heard of Windows
95, and when Windows 96 arrives, they'll buy it immediately because they'll
think that they're already behind one revision of the OS.
