This must be a new forum; I feel like my typing is reverberating in a large empty hall… hall.. hall… Anyway, I'm looking for 3D meshes for Corvette bodies of all years. Preferably in a format my 3D Studio can read. I've check Viewpoint, but they don't have any I can use. If anyone can recommend a model company that has a lot of automobile meshes for sale, please let me know! Thanks, -Ray

My company makes a 3D translation tool called InterChange, and as a demonstration of it, we've made several low-cost collections of 3D models on CDROM. If you'd like to get a catalog, leave me your mailing address in private e-mail. Or call (414) 674-5200 during business hours.

So Peter, are you working on your contributions for 3D-ROM Vol. III? We had an old friend of Syndesis send more than 200 models as his "contribution." A very useful set of household models…

Ye GODS!!!! 200 Models!!!! Very Nice. I guess I best get my Buttocks in gear eh? Please do send me a submission form when time permits. I'm sure I can come up with some useful models in Time for submission. I've been rather Lax of Late. Tis a Shame that my Models of certain copyrighted Characters are taboo. I've been doing alot of "GASP" Logo type animation lately for a friend who does ALOT of Video's of his Children. My Fiancee saw this and asked me to do one for our Engagement video which is still being Edited as well. Also want to try my hand at "gumpisizing" some video to insert myself into some Movies to Freak out some Friends at work hehehehehe

What's a "gasp" animation?

I think I was rambling about doing the Animation and the <GASP> was sorta a joke

Ahhh I see what I meant by "GASP" …Do you remember when we did the first Amiga Gang tape? Most folks were talking about doing LOGO animations and I was like "I don;t do Logo anims" so now that I've been doing Logo Animations it sia SHOCK hence the "GASP"

Ray, One thing you might consider is making your own. There are devices available for about $1k now that will allow you to take a phisical model (I imagine all of these cars exist in plastic model format) and convert them into 3D data. One such model-maker is the DigiMax from Impulse. This thing retails for $1k, but they have a special going now on it for $695. Really a pretty good deal, and just about perfect for your application, in my opinion. -John

John, Thanks. I will look into the DigiMax. I did look at the digitizer from Immersion (about $2200). I thought it would be too hard to use and I wouldn't end up with the quality I was after. However, somebody that is proficient with it might be able to do it for me. -Ray
