How did the show go? I didn't see you there, but then I didn't get to any
of the seminars. Hope you got the support you needed in LA. As I've
already noted, the Ad Rats promo deserves all the press it can get.

I had a blast! (I thought of making a name tag, so those whom I've
been talking to here might find me, but I was too overwhelmed with finding
a dubbing facility when I landed in L.A. to cope with it. And by the way,
folks, every facility in L.A. was just too busy to do a quick turnaround
on my little 3 minute demo tape… EXCEPT ONE: Dubs, Inc. on Highland Ave.
in Hollywood. A 24-hour facility, and I got my VHS dubs done there for
$13 apiece, with no Rush Order surcharge, and a four hour turnaround!) I
had the chance to share my tape with many people at various booths, and at
the seminars. I received very positive, constructive critique from Lee
Stranahan and Jason Linhart (who took over John Gross's class midday), and
from Grant Boucher on the second day. I think Bill Chadwick and I
succeeded in getting ourselves on the map.
Some quick highlights of the entire event: Being able to have
hands-on, unattended play with the LW 4.0 beta, and get an early feel for
Inverse Kinematics; seeing a great demo of Alpha Paint performed by a
talented maniac who's name eludes me, but was as comprehensive as a 100
page manual; buying an AD1012 for my friend Paul (the deal of the show!);
taking the seminars and being exceedingly pleased and surprised that they
lived up to their billing as ADVANCED classes (especially Grant's on
Surfaces… yeow!!! my head still hurts); and being able to thank and
congratulate the lovely Ann Pulley for accomplishing such a well produced
and vibrant show!
The only lowlight: Not being Howard Sweeney of Boulder, CO. (He won
the DEC Alpha in the raffle)

Hi,
Couldn't agree more, had Tim Jenison, Dick Van Dyke and Steven Speilberg come
by the booth. The manics name is Chris Fenwick and he's a member of the Silican
Valley TUG (he did great didn't he?!) It was great to meet all our users and to
welcome A whole lot of new ones. We were packed the whole time and won the
"most attended" booth title. Thanks to all those that stoped by!
The best IS yet to come.

Glad everything worked out. It sounds like you did a lot of R&D but it
paid off.
Maybe I'll see the finished piece at the next user meeting. Might even be
a good example to load into the Flyer.

the holidays and then I'll send you a copy. How about you? I'd like to
see what you ReAnimate from time to time.
