Does anyone have any tips on the HP Deskjet? Does it work well with the
Amiga's? I am thinking about getting one. THanks in advance!! Jamie
It's great. Most Amiga software won't be able to switch among its font
cartridges on the fly except wordPerfect which has its own drivers. The
graphicoutput is really nice.. just don't get the pages wet. The deskjet
is a great deal for a 300dpi printer, good for DTP if you can't afford a
post script printer.
Thanks Arnie! I went ahead and bought it today. I really like it. I might
take it back and get the Lazer 11, I am comparing the difference in

I've used an HP DeskJet Plus with an Amiga 2000 for about a year, and think
it's terrific. The output is near-laser quality (although slower), and it
works extremely well with PixelScript (which I highly recommend for
Postscript printing on non-Postscript printers). The only thing that would
make me stop and think about buying it is the recent release of the HP
LaserJet IIP. With a street price of just over a $1000 dollars, you get a
true laser printer for not much more money. I think I paid $700-$800 for
my DeskJet Plus. But it had just come out, and its street price may have
dropped considerably since then.

Thanks Lee! I bought the Deskjet!! I really like it. I may take it back and
get the Lazer 11P. I am still deciding.

I just bought an HP Deskjet+ (much faster than the regular DJ) at The
Computer Factory for $719.00. With the current HP rebate of $150.00, that's
a DJ plus for $569.00!!! If you are thinking about buying, now may be the
time!!
BTW if you add another $100.00 for PixelScript you would have the
equivalent of a PS printer for $669.00!!

Thanks! How or who do you send in to, to get thr rebate? I was
thinking of trading to the Lazer 11P but thr rebate could make a HUGE
difference!

The Computer Factory sales person said that he would give me a coupon (as
soon as they arrived at his store) and that I was to send a copy of my
receipt and the coupon to HP. The rebate would come directly from HP. If
you live in the northeast and wish to talk to him (the Computer Factory
person) call the Computer Factory in Danbury CT (203-798-2012) and ask for
Scott Steinsvaag.

I've use a DeskJet+ with my Amiga for about a year now. Wouldn't trade it
for anything. And when combined with TeX, it is simply outstanding!

I must say thet the DEskJet looks GREAT! If I can get the rebate, I'll keep
it instead of maybe trading up for the Lazer 11P. I can never make up my
mind!!
