#Shininess: hum-drum?

Mike,
I wasn't trying to recreate any specific effect; I was simply trying to
understand Shiny, including how it differs from Reflect. So far, my tests
with Shiny don't seem to show anything I couldn't obtain with Reflect.
These two separate functions have been part of Imagine since time
immemorial, so there must be a difference between the two.

Nope you could make shinny things with Refelect it takes more work and
shinny is just a bit less work, it is that simple, maybe you were looking toooo
hard for something that was not there, I realize your scrunity might be
warranted but the answer is maybe too simple one you might not like.
I have an idea, what is it that you want, this might be a better
continued conversation, we might not have thought in the same line as you.
OK
Mike
Mike,
thanks for the reply. I guess unless I read some revolutionary,
mind-blowing post by a clever user, I'll simply keep ignoring shininess as
I'd been doing all those years.
