Brick, I Work For Media Management in Atlanta GA and we have a slight problem. It seems there are no more Micropolis drives. None of our distributors seem to have any. Who might we obtain Large IDE Drives from? Kevin Christopher P.S. We are a dealer for the PAR Not end users.

I purchased the same drive from MH two weeks ago for only $750. I hope hard drives keeps dropping in price this fast! This past year has been great! Mitch

I also was able to buy a 2217A from Megahaus. Hard Drives Int'l didn't have any more and said that Micropols was discontinuing the 2217A model. I hope that DPS comes up with some new drives which will work with the PAR as the 2217A had the largest capacity on the list. Megahaus is at (713) 333-1910. Good Luck! Larry

Conner has 1.2 Gig drives that are compatible, Tenex Data still has 1.7 Gig Micropolis drives also. I can look around for you some as well. Give me a call in the office on Wednesday next week and I will try and help you out. Brick

Which 1.2 Gig drives from conner specifically. We are a Par-dealer and we have the same problem: our distributor can't deliver any Micropolis drives on the PAR approved list as we have it. Are there more drives added to the PAR-compatible list ? Fremer

Fremer, What is PAR compatible? I have a friend that needs some advice on a 1 gig+ drive. Thanks, Mark

Far as I know: there used to be two Micropolis drives, but we can't get them anymore. The new Conner 1.2 Gb drives seem to added to the list of PAR-compatible drives, but rumour says there are less speedy when filled above 30 percent. These drives are -very- fast when used as normal enhanced IDE drives. We manage to get about 3.5 Mbytes / sec from this baby !
