Foreign chars in DTP?

I am considering buying a DTP package. From messages left here PageStream
seems not to be a bad choice after the new 1.8 release. However, I need to
know, if the fonts supplied with it contain the entire Amiga character set
i.e. also those characters you get using the ALT key e.g. ALT-a, ALT-o,
ALT-q etc. Especially these three letters are important to me, because my
native language is Danish, not English.
So, please someone, try pressing those ALT-keys next time, you are using
PageStream (or any other DTP package, too) and leave me a note here, thank
you.

Pro Page is very good about ALT key support for getting other characters.
The manual even has a guide to the keystrokes to get the right character as
it resides in the PostScript font, or the Compugraphic font, that gets
printed on your printer.

PageStream fonts have a rather complete set of extended characters
(including the ones you asked about), although some fonts lack the required
characters. Certainly PageStream can handle fonts that do have those
characters.

Thanks for the info. Is there an easy way to add missing/special characters
e.g. by using a font editor ? I have noticed som PD fonts for PageStream.
They must have been made some way.
Furthermore, does PageStream come standard with a Helvetica like
proportional font ?

Yes, Pagestream comes with HELV, which is a Helvetica equivalent.

I don't think there's an easy way to add characters to a PageStream font.
There is an Atari program to create fonts for PageStream (I am told).
PageStream does come with a Helvetica-like font.
