#Amiga on TV again

The Amiga shows up in a TV series again! "War of the Worlds" on the Fox
network. The alien child Adam is supposed to adsorb all the information in
the computer. The screen is clearly an Amiga screen…even has "CLI" as
the name of the widow in the title bar, and what he's "absorbing" is the
output of a DIR command. Unfortunately…I didn't notice if they showed a
shot of the computer itself.
When that series first started (aka, when I used to watch it), one of the
title screens was done on an Amiga. I'd heard the rumour, and the graphics
have an amiga look to them. (where the alien hand comes over the planet)

I was watching 'My Secret Identity' (Feb 10,1990) while killing time
waiting for Star Trek, The Next Generation. The kid was using some modem
program which I couldn't tell waht it was. But the glimpse of the screen
with it's Work Bench Intuition Interface and the shot of the back of the
1084 monitor were unmistakable.
"War of the Worlds" is not Fox. It may be carried by your local Fox
affiliate, but it is not a network program. Not that this is important.
No, they didn't show anything identifiable as any of the Amigas. The
keyboard reminded me of the HUGH boxy keyboards that were attached to some
ancient Xerox CPM machines we had as our first PC's in the lab — like
typing on a tombstone lying on its back, or maybe Fred Flintstone's
cpmputer 8-). The monitor wasn't recognizable either, except of course, for
the screen ! Looked like maybe cardboard (or hardboard) cases around the
real hardware.
