Great! Two Amiga Luminaries, two different answers! But seriously, I agree that it will get referred to as AmigaPro regardless of which we put on the cover. Thanks for the feedback, guys. Keep those ideas (and checks and letters) coming 🙂

Oooh, an official announcement. Is AmigaPro going to replace INFO? In other words, what's going to happen to your eight-bit coverage? I always thought that it was about half your subscriber base. And does this mean your ad rates will be the same as AmigoTimes?

Hi, John! Yes, Amiga Professional (or Pro) will replace both INFO and AmigoTimes. While many of our readers have 64s and 128s, almost all have Amigas. Quite frankly, there is nothing really left to cover in the 8-bit world except new games, and since most 64 games coming out now also have an Amiga counterpart, a 64 user can get most of that info from a good Amiga games section. Ad rates are yet to be determined, but since INFO and A.Times will produce a combined paid circulation of around 70,000 even after factoring out 20,000 or so overlap readers, you can probably expect the rates to go up to about 1/2 to 2/3 of AmigaWorld.

What about articles pending with AmigoTimes? I've got a great humor column that's been waiting in their pile, and I know there's an interview with Harriet Maybeck Tolly by Sue Albert that's scheduled for publication, too, and she's wondering if it will ever see the light of day. Are you considering publishing the articles they have waiting? If not, then I'll pull them from AmigoTimes, and resubmit them to INFO, or something like that… 🙂 Will Amiga Pro have the slick feel of AmigoTimes, or that down-home, country feel of INFO? Or the techno-nerd style of Transactor? (Country feel? What about that good ol' country smell? Maybe you should do a scratch n' sniff issue.)

Ben, AmiPro … looks "balanced" and that's how it'll really be shortened. Don
