Does anyone know if a 1.44 mg 3 1/2 " Flopy Drive will work with the existing controler on the bridgeboard. How about putting one inside the external Amig 3 1/2 " case and using that controller and power supply? Any possibilities or would a new controller be necessary? Thanks, Frank

Frank, I know the FDC chip can understand 720K drives and I know you can tell DOS you have a 1.2Meg drive attached via Driver.sys (you did mean 1.2Meg rather than 1.44 didn't you?) but I don't know if the FDC can or can't handle it. I've checked a few articles on the BridgeBoard's hardware but don't see anything specific to the FDC other than it can handle 4 drives. Don

Don Thanks for the info. No the 5 1/4 drive is 1.2 mg but the 3.5 drive on the newer machines are 1.44 mg. I have sucessfully used 3.5 disks from these machines on the bridgeboard in the 720k mode but I am thinking of adding a 1.44 drive internally for the bridgeboard. I've seen these at "new" at computer swaps for near $100.00. Since I use a ps/system 2 IBM at work, this would allow me to bring these disks home to the Amiga without having to recopy them on disks I had formated for 720K. Maybe I'll just have to wait and see. Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks Frank
