Can anyone on the forum tell me if there is a Postscript compatible graphics program available for the Amiga. I want to be able to trace and modify images captured with a video digitizer and output the results to a high resolution device such as a linotronic 100/300. If a postscript program is not available, is there a program that will at least allow tracing of a captured image (using bezier curve techniques) and output to a printer or plotter? While I'm asking questions, can someone tell me how I can subscribe to the 'Transactor for Amiga' (sic). Thanks, Rich

Arno Krautter (for Gold Disk). It sounds like what you want is Adobe Illustrator on the Amiga. Unfortunately, it doesn't exist (yet). We (Gold Disk Inc.) have a Desktop Publishing program called Professional Page which has structured graphic (drawing) tools built in It could I suppose be use for what you want by inporting a bitmapped picture and drawing oon top of it. We have rectangles, circles, ellipses, freehand drawing, polygons and 3 pt beziers amoung our drawing tools. Pro Page outputs to PostScript so you can definately get all of the resolution you need. Take a look, maybe you'll find you can use the Desktop Publishing features too! (Sorry if this sounds too much like a commercial!). Arno Ka O/ex

Rich, one package that might help you is called "LaserUp! Print 1.2" from a company called S. Anthony Studios in San Francisco. It can output any IFF file in PostScript form, and also does 4-colour separations. The address is: S. Anthony Studios, 889 De Haro St., San Francisco, CA 94107, phone (415)826-6193. I haven't used it yet, so I can't tell you how well it works… the above info is from the manual in a review copy we picked up at AmiExpo. About subscribing to "Transactor for the Amiga" (sic :)… just send me E-mail, with name, address, Visa/Mastercard # and expiry date, and preferably phone number… or order by phone at (416)764-5273 Mon., Wed. or Fri. 9-5 EST.
