Kronos and AMAX II

Norm,
ICD's card sounds interesting. What kind of utilities come with it and does
it have any easy way to format, partition, etc. especially for the AMAX. I
have seen the basic software from the WordSync and you know how cryptic the
SCSIDos docs are…..
Rex
I just received a call from Rick Estes of Micro-Dyne. Seems that the Kronos
driver for AMAX is available (!!!!!). He needed to get my address so he
could send it to me.
I'll keep you all posted.
Rex
Rex,
I had heard that Micro-Dyn had died!!?? When did you speak with
them, and what phone number did you call? I have a Kronos and would like
to get the Amax driver for it, if truly available.
I got the call from Rick Estes on Friday and the number for them is the
same one on my disks: 316-265-2661. It seems that, perhaps, our colleagues
here were a bit hasty……

Rick, is someone from MicroDyn still in business as such? It was my
understanding that they're defunct.
Ron
Rex,
Indeed we were a bit hasty! Several messages and other info had
indicated that Micro-Dyn was gone with the wind. I just got a flyer
yesterday announcing the Amax driver for Kronos and some other new stuff
due out shortly. Guess the rumors were off base this time.
Let's see. One of the principals had told me they'd gone under. The
phones had been disconnected.
Sounds like they've risen again. Hopefully with assorted legal and
financial issues that I assume they have solved.
Ron,
I guess so. Although the flyers they sent looked like they were
done on scratch paper with a typewriter and xeroxed, nevertheless, they
announced availability of the amax driver and a PAL which needed to be
changed. Price was $50 for package and a promised tape driver which would
be sent about 30 days later when available. It also appears that they may
have a new Kronos 2000 controller with advertised data transfer rate of
over 900k/sec, but no price or anything else. I got my notice in the mail
because long ago I called MicroDyn and gave them my name and address.
Suggest that if you haven't done so you might do the same so you can get
their info.
Except that their phones were disconnected.
Ron
I have that info here, in case it's different from what you have:
P.O. Box 192
Derby, KS 67037
316-265-2661
Hope this is OK, it's what is on their flyer.
Rex, Could you give me the information on getting hold of Rick Estes? I
thought they closed their doors! Does this mean that KRONOS is not dead?
Could you supply me/us with the phone numbers and address for Micro-Dyne?
The numbers I have seem to be disconnected!

Rex,
It has very user friendly software. The software can identify most
common HD types and will preconfigure the setup software. You can even
change partition names without loosing data. The controller supports the
rigid boot block standard from Commodore. Thus you could partition a drive
on one controller and use it on the ICD controller or vice versa.
As far as AMAX goes, you just name one of the patitions AMAX and it will
automatically use it. Norm
