#A2500 specs

Could anyone tell me what you get when you buy an Amiga 2500? Does it have
a hard drive? How big? How much RAM? Accellerator? What speed? Are there
different model 2500? Thanks.
Pat PS:I tried posting this in Commodre
Service Forum but they won't be there for a while.
Pat,
The current configuration for the 2500 is a 2000 box with the 2630 board
(with 4M on board), a 50M Quantum harddrive and the 2091 controller.
They also have a 100 Meg HD model now too. Both are 25 mhz 68030/68882
systems.

Lurking through this thread, it sounds like the A2500 is pretty much an
accelerated A2000. Is that impression correct? If not, what are the other
differences between the two machines?
Jay,
You got it — a 2500 is nothing more than a 2000 with an accelerator
card in the CPU slot (and a sticker in front that says 2500 instead of
2000).

Jay,
That's exactly what an A2500 is…an A2000 with a few add-on cards
installed. As you say, "An accelerated A2000".
Abosulutly 100% correct! The accelerator used is the 2630 (25 MHZ
60830/68882) with 4 megs of 32 bit wide Ram.

Ben,
Thanks! I've been shopping for an A2000, and a friend suggested that I
look into the A2500. The speed improvement sounds good, if the price you
pay for it isn't out of line.
If you want I'll E-mail you our prices.

Ben,
That'd be great! I've had a disappointing time getting info locally. One
of the Amiga dealers is also an IBM/Apple dealer, so wants to sell MSDOS
and Mac machines more than Amigas.
If I can get this thing while I'm still a student, I understand that
Commodore has a decent educational discount program.
Thanks for the info.
Jay
Yes they do, one that we fully support.
