DCTV vs. Genlock

I just ordered DCTV and happened to at my local dealer to look at what I
have ordered and it seems that, without a separate adapter, you can't use
DCTV's output with even the SuperGen genlock from the same company!
It's in the docs (page 1-4). Now I called Digital Creations earlier in the
day and I was assured that I would at least be able to hook up my SuperGen
and use my "native" Amiga stuff as normal (this was before I found out
about the need for the adaptor). Can't anyone verify this?
Need to know who has DCTV and what they are doing with their external
genlocks like the original SuperGen……

I would guess most of the people with genlocks would buy HAM-E instead.

I have worked with HAM-E and was quite unimpressed with the paint program
and the amount of effort needed for use. Despite the current hardware
concern, I find DCTV much more painless to use and just as powerful.

I've worked with both including the most recent updates on the Ham-E
softwre The new Paint and the Image proffessional program that they now
include, as far as DCTV is concerned I found it quite lacking and color
fringe a Major problem when I converted Ham-E pics over, even on the 256
color ones, that I've done. What version of Paint were you using? They are
upto 2.18 (version 2 revision 18). Compared to DCTV's paint, well I found
then both pretty even EXCEPT that I still can't find UNDO mentioned
anywhere in DCTV's manual (it's not in the index) nor does DCTV paint have
facilities for automatic animations like Ham-E (requires Arexx).
BEN Leigh's Computer's P.S. DCTV digitizer is convinient though.
Are you saying color fringe appeared in the DCTV image after converson? I
don't see how color fringe could exist in REG mode to start with (unless it
was somehow messed-up).
Fringe appeared on the file after it was converted to DCTV. And I even
double checked the source 24-bit by loading it back into reg-mode , no
fringe or curruption of the original 24-bit data, only on the DCTV
processed image.
