My Amiga 2000 is equipped with a GVP Impact Series II Hard Disk/RAM Card
with eight megs of RAM and a 135 meg Fujitsu hard drive. Upon loading
DigoView 4.0 onto the Workbench partition (DH0) of my hard drive and
rebooting, my Workbench icon was somehow replaced by the DigiView icon,
with the name remaining Workbench. How can I replace the DigiView icon
with the workbench icon? My hard drive has three partitions, how can I
change partition names? What is the difference between the Shell and the
CLI? Which one should I be using? Any correspondences would be greatly
appreciated.

Brian,
It's hard to guess what happend to your Workbench partition icon during the
Digiview installation. Could you give a little more information on the
commands that you used to do the installation? (or, did you use a supplied
Install script? If so, some details on your responses would help us to
help you.)
The next one is easy – to relabel your partitions, just single click on the
partition's icon and choose the Workbench rename function. It works the
same as renaming a floppy.
Shell is a newer, enhanced version of CLI that supports more features,
including command line history. I'd suggest using it instead of CLI for
that reason, although either one will work OK.

It sounds like the disk.info file from your DigiView diskette got copied to
the root of your hard disk df0:. This won't create any problems, as far as
I know. But if you want the 'generic' workbench boot disk icon back, you
could copy the file named disk.info from an original Workbench boot
diskette to the root of DH0:. Scott Horn, Mentor Technologies
