Brad, Many of those files can't be run from WorkBench, but have to be run from a CLI. The Amiga has no special filename extenders, so you have to give the Amiga the full filename such as ARC.EXE to get it to run, unlike MS-DOS where you could just type ARC and the file would run even thou it was named ARC.EXE on the disk. A tutorial on the CLI and it's usage is too large for one (or several) message here. I would suggest a book such as one from Compute! or the official book from CBM, published by Bantam called 'The AmigaDOS Manual'. Make sure you get the 1.2 version. Don

Don: Puh-leeeeeeeeese! The correct term is 'extenSIONS'. I wouldn't care to discuss what wholly revolting connotations are brought to mind by the oft-incorrectly used 'extenDERS'. Roger P.S. Nothing personal you understand – I've been meaning to get this off my chest for a long time.

Roger, True, and I usualy do use the term 'filename extension', I don't know what I was thinking of when I used extenders…probably the amount of sleep I haven't had in the last week or two (grin). Don
