#Modula-2 Console?
5 messages in this thread
Does someone know where I might find some Modula-2 code examples using the
Console device? I have some C code that does what I want to do with a
console window, but I'm porting a fairly large Pascal project and I think
Modula-2 would work better than C in this case 8^). I'm using M2Sprint and
I've looked through their manuals, but I can't find anything equivalent to
OpenConsole and CloseConsole. They have an OpenDevice that might work, but
I'm not really sure how that works yet. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated …

Harry,
If you have the V1.1 update to M2Sprint, the author included a new "Easy"
module called appropriately "EasyConsole". It includes simple procedures
for creating and disposing of consoles, and writing and reading them as
well.
It makes life with consoles very manageable.

Thanks for the reply. I _thought_ I had the latest update, but I looked
through both the manuals and the directories and couldn't find anything
specific on consoles. I vaguely remembered that something existed, but
wasn't sure. Do you know offhand if it's online here? Never mind, I'll go
look in Avant-Garde's section in Ven 8^). Thanks …

Well, it's not online anywhere that I could find. My update disks say
REV 1.10, and it's not there either. Would it be possible for you to arc it
up and post it? I'd appreciate it. If not, do you have the number for the
Benchmark folks so I could get it from them? Thanks …

Avant Guard has a book on Modula-2 on the Amiga. It is a little on the
expensive side, but includes a disk with the examples. Drop a note over in
the Avant Guard section of the AmigaVend forum. It will be good to see a
message or two over there again.
