I've received your CD-ROM Product List. I am very interested in your
Media Vision Multimedia Kit. However, I don't if I should get a external or
internal drive. Could you please give me some guideline on choosing
external and internal drive.
The Toshiba XM-3301 dirve seems performance better than the Sony CDU-541
in term of average seek time and the price difference is not the great. Is
it worth to get Toshiba drive and Pro Audio Spectrum and CD's separately
rather than the bundled kit.
What is the price of the MIDI interface connectors for the Pro Audio
Spectrum? It is not on the price list. What sort of programs will come with
the PAS card to control a keyboard device.
The internal drive kit is a much more cost-effective package, and of course
it takes up less room, so if you have a half-height drive bay free, I would
go for the internal.
I doubt that the Toshiba has enough speed advantage to justify the
additional cost of trying to roll your own bundle. Remember that Compton's
MM Encyclopedia (which is a great CD) has a list price of about $800. I
suspect you would eventually pay over $500 more to try to duplicate the
M.V. bundle with a different drive.
The best way to get the MIDI adapter for the M.V. kit is to the get MIDI
Mate bundled with TRAX (a sequencing program for Windows). The cost of the
MIDI Mate adapter alone is $69 versus $98 for the bundle. TRAX is worth a
more than $98 by itself, so it is like getting the hardware for free.

Thank you for your advice. I have some more questions. Is the Sony
internal drive use CD caddy? If this is the case, then very likely I cannot
play 3.5" audio CD through it? (Which is minor problem.) However, why is
the price difference between the internal and external Toshiba CDs is only
$140 but $275 between the internal and external MV bundle.
I had a Multimedia Kit from Creative Labs for two weeks and returned.
The reason is I had trouble running the Windows/MME in my 386 ( Probably
you've read my messages about the problem from this forum ) and as you say
the SB Pro is a little bit noisy. However, it does provided a lot of
goodies for Windows like SB Pro Mixer and some MIDI sequencing programs and
etc… Are there any device drivers or programs come with the PAS Card let
me control the MIDI device. If there are some, do I still me the TRAX
program.
Has Leisure Suit Larry V and Wing Commander II got a CD version. And
how much?
Do you carry and Fax/Modem which bundle with Windows 3 FAX/Comm.
programs?
Last, Could I place the order through CIS e-mail and what sort of
information you needed
