I noted a description of the "Ortho Gardening Software" in library 2 here in the Forum. However, the file didn't provide any information on how one goes about obtaining this software. Can anyone advise?

Ortho says they have discontinued their software and have no immediate plans to introduce others. There are still a few left in retail outlets, they say, but frankly, there's a lot better garden software out there than that. National Gardening Magazine will have a review article (by me) of more than 20 programs in the March 92 issue; the article will probably be uploaded shortly to one of the Garden Forum libraries. What specifically do you want and what kind of computer do you use?

Hi, I've been looking for gardening software myself. A decent database, with appropriate climate and related information, other cultural stuff, along with garden record-keeping and maybe hybridizing record-keeping potential would be nice. I use an IBM-type 386sx, with ample hard drive capacity. Any suggestions? Or let me know when the article is available. R.

Judy, Thanks … I'm just trying to get a feel for what's available, but haven't settled on specific requirements yet. Ron (Myhr)'s reply pretty much applies to me also, except I'm using an XT clone as opposed to a '386. Might be helpful to add a comment to the description of the Ortho file indicating that the software's no longer being offered, or perhaps to remove that file altogether (especially if you wouldn't recommend the software).
