Amiga/PC hardcard
2 messages in this thread
I am still having problems with my bridgeboard. It still takes the system
and locks it up once I access the PC window. (I am sharing a PC hardcard
with the PC board and the Amiga both having partitions on it.) I am using
the PC hardcard as the system for the Amiga. Once I access anything in the
PC window, the Amiga will lock up if I try to go back to the workbench. It
does this even if I close the PC display. The only things in memory are
the command.com, mmouse.com, and a 48 byte block designated as "free" mem.
I do not have any TSR programs that run except Direct Access menu program,
and I have exited to Dos prior to closing the window, but it still doesn't
help. However, if I do a warm boot on the PC board, and then immediately
exit and close the window, I do get my workbench back. This is shorter
than the 90 sec. boot routine for the Amiga/PC combined, but still takes 30
sec. to get back to the workbench while the PC reboots. This just isn't
right, but I'm at a loss to figure it out. Kit Pepperd 70632,2166
I seem to recall some behavior like that. I'm sure Don will have some
better advice than I, but my problems were traced back to the amiga side
and the paths and locations of bb files. I had no problems is I booted
from a floppy (the amiga floppy, that is) I never got to the pc-warm
bboot/exit part so I can't comment there.
