HELP! I am a user of JR Comm and cannot up/download files. The programme otherwise works fine. Can anyone help – its costing a fortune.

What problems are you having? Please be more explicate. You should probably try to use the Practice forum (GO PRACTICE). Online time in that forum is FREE, so you can learn to download there without spending a lot of money. Steve

Wilf, First of all, I would suggest that you learn to upload and download in the PRACTICE forum, where it won't cost you any connect time fees while you learn. It's easier to learn when you don't have to worry about the cost of it. Now, are you sure that you have your serial settings at 8-N-1? Are you using B or B+ protocols? Exactly what is happening when you try to download? Please tell us exactly, and we should be able to help you get past this very quickly. Betty

I'm sorry – but I don't use JRCOMM, and I'm without a clue. It has lots of loyal users here in the forum, though, so I feel sure someone will jump in here and help you find the problem. I would suggest, first of all, that you check your installation to make sure you put everything in the right place as specified in the docs. Also, check to see that your terminal settings are correct – 8N1, and B+ protocols.

I had the same problem when using the program term1.9 (2.0 only). I solved it by selecting "Strip high bit" in the terminal parameters settings. JRcomm has the same setting on its terminal parameter screen. Try selecting it. Steve W

wilf Burgess, I have JR-Comm 1.02a and have successfully used it to up/download files. Our system is an Amiga 2000HD. What are your settings? What modem do you have? What happens when you try to up/download? Sincerely, (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless 'Perfessor Fearless' – via Whap!
