This is just for laughs, but it's not a joke. When i first looked at an
amiga, my first out cry was, You must be kidding!!

The long awaited moment came. This morning a brand spanking new Amiga 2000
was delivered to my office. Thoughts rushing through my mind about hooking
it up tonight with my video equipment and trying out the bells and whistles
on the Toaster. The empty space in the rack is ready where the Amiga going
to reside. Like a kid with a new toy (I think we all are little kids when
it comes to video toys) I opened the box and gently took the Amiga out. I
looked and a cry came out, "HOLLY S…, YOU MUST BE KIDDING". That's what I
get buying a toy, not a professional machine, A TOY. Made for kids games.
Who ever heard of inputs in front of the machine. I will have wires running
all over the place. Forget about my ready space above desk level. I can
just see myself moving cabels out of my way to see the monitors. No wonder
they call it the human friendly machine. In some way it's like a human.
Input in front, output in the back. Hm, I wonder if it digests the software
that way, and what do I do with it when it comes out? Common guys, some one
should tell Commodore that if they want to play mens games, they should
make a serious machine. PLACE ALL CONNECTIONS IN THE BACK. Don't get
offended guys, be a sport, I'm sure I will enjoy the Toaster, but be
honest, don't you wish you had no cables in front of you?

For those of us who use the Amiga as a computer instead of a video
peripheral, cables in the front are a Good Thing. Check out most newer PC
clones–keyboard and mouse ports on the front.
So what the heck is the big deal about having the mouse and joystick ports
in front? Everything else is in back.

Try an Amiga 3000, connections are on the rear of the right side, therby
making everyone mad, or everyone happy..
Of course, since you can't use the Toaster in a A3000 it does not matter…
I have atleast 10 cables on the back, a few in the front don't hurt. Thats
your only first impression ?

Yeah, I would accept your argument if it was directed at the 32 color
graphics. Yeah, I would accept your argument if it attacked the marketing
and development starategy (?!?) of Commode-odor.Jf Yeah, I would accept
your argument if you gave any reason besides personal/type
bias, but you don't.
I have to listen to both IBM-heads, and Mac-o-philes all day long.
If you don't like the Toaster, send it back and spend >$8,000 dollars for a
Mac peripheral, or stick with your IBM and wait for something to show up.
Stop wasting our time.

Lighten up guy, I did not attack the toaster. I made a comment with the
amiga 2000. ports for game controllers are fine in front, but for video
especialy if mounted in a rack, i have wires running in front of my video
monitors. all i said is that amiga/commodore was in the video games arena,
now they are entering the pro video editing. I would like to see the ports
in the back. what's wrong with that? as for amiga vs ibm vs mac, there is
no contest. each have a place. why all the hostility? happy toasting, i am,
