As a new member, I have joined specifically to aid a neighbor who is attempting
to locate an internal 512K memory upgrade for his amiga 1000. He cannot locate
a dealer who carries this item. Any suggestions or help from forum members
would be greatly appreciated. Also he might be seeking an addd-on modem to
allow him to communicate directly.

William…you can buy an Alegra 512K external ram expansion for about 300
dollars or perhaps less. It is made by Access Associates in N. Calif. It does
not support "pass thru" which meanjs that you cannot connect anything else to
it. It is upgradeable to 1.5 megabites, however the 1 med DRams you'd need to
do it are not cheap: $27 each. Buy a copy of Amiga World at any large
newsstand or bookseller and call any of the mailorder companys
..CMO for instance. The infamous Abell Supply is a good cheap source if they
have an item in stock. There are a number of other upgrades to choose from.
