Kevin, do they tell you how long one can expect to keep the job (in weeks or months)? 🙂 Ron

Heh-heh. That's a comment *I* didn't want to make (about longevity of Commodore jobs ;-). But they sound interesting while they last, eh? cheers – kev

Sure they do. But it doesn't sound like any of them will help the Amiga itself, just things like CDTV; which without much marketing, is likely to die out.

Excuse me, Ron, but all of those jobs contribute to the Amiga. The CDTV job affects it indirectly. Did you see the job doing graphics support which worked with custom chip development? Doesn't this affect the Amiga? New graphics custom chips? Sounds good to me.

Missed that one; cross your fingers! Ron

To add to what Ron said, it seems out here on the West Coast that CDTV was still-born. All the cheapy electronic store chains have the nice glitzy CD-I displays and machines doing their thing. I have yet to see a CDTV in person, one of its adds, or even a poster for it in stores that sell 500s (which is were you'd figure the CDTV initial outlet should be). I believe CDTV is going to be even less popular than 8 track tapes were! Short product life – shorter job! wmc

A CBM marketdroid (yeah, we're back at that level) basically told me that (reading between the lines) that they've pretty much dropped out of the consumer market for CDTV, and intend to concentrate on special purpose (sales kiosks, etc) usage. Ron

Ron, "He, He, patient died – maybe we can sell some organs!" CBM marketting – what a comedy! wmc

Yeah, but a sad comedy. Ron

Well, just drop up to my store again, sometime, Wayne 🙂 We got CDTV's. I had to harangue my DM, but we got 'em. Most successful store selling them in my district (North LA – Software Etc). Have one on demo constantly. tmm/Richard Cunningham

Richard, I think you should apply to CBM for the VP of Marketting job. wmc

Richard, Well, maybe you could borrow some of the leftover Mob/CIA tools from the Castro attempts and try 'em out on good ole' Irv. Then, as the new VEEP you could use his salary as the advertising budget. Should be able to Sponsor next years Super Bowl!!! :^} wmc

Gee, Wayne, are you implying our Beloved Leader isn't worth every penny?!? Regards, Whap!penned… Pat Cummings @Oxxi (310) 427-1227

You forget, Wayne, that Haig is on the board; that means no access to those "tools" for the opposition 🙂 Besides, if I had that much money, I would just buy Apple and sell the Amiga as an Apple 🙂 tmm/Richard Cunningham
