#where's WHAP ?
5 messages in this thread
Hi there, I am absolutely new to the system and I am looking for the file
WHAP (or WHAP17.ZOO) for a faster/cheeper comunication. In the PRACTICE
Forum (LIB1, whap.txt) I learned this file should be in the AMIGATECH forum
in LIB 16. But there is no LIB 16 (or at least not availableto me !) ??? Is
ther anyone who could help me ?
Is somewhere a newer/better tool for the AMIGA than WHAP ?
Thanks ! Stefan
Stefan,
Sorry the file in Practice Forum is out of date! Whap! is now in
AmigaVendor forum, Library 9, and is called WHP19G.LZH.

Yes you're right, that file is dated 1990 as I realised after asking the
sysop there. Thanks ! Is WHAP the only communicationfile for the AMIGA ?or
are there others too ?
Stefan
Whap! is all you'll want, unless you don't already have a
telecommunications program. If you're in need of one, may I (shamelessly)
recommend the one we publish, A-Talk III?

Stefan,
It's the only one we have that is automated. There are lots of other comm
files in Library 5 of AmigaUser. Some of the more popular are BackTalk,
Access! (good, but badly in need of updating), JRComm, and NCOmm. There
are also some that are popular with the people who use mainframe systems a
lot, such as VLT and Handshake.
